All,
I updated the proposal for Option Exercise and Option Expiry. See attached
schema file and diagrams.
>From the last comment sent by Andrew Parry, I assumed we should have
created an element called optionExercise with an OptionExercise complex
type, which would have extended the generic Event type. In addition
optionExercise element would be part of the event substitution group. I
did that. The only problem with this approach is that the content models
of the element optionExercise have to be the same for the request and the
response message. This means that we cannot enforce the settlement
information to be required in the response message. A validation rule will
need to be defined.
Let me know your comments. If no one objects to this proposal, we’ll
include it in FpML 4.3.
Best Regards,
-Marc

I was very interested in it.
It is an implementation of the ISDA Operations Working Group
recommendation. This should be some indication of the level of interest.

Brian,
We never got any additional feedback besides the point made by Andrew
Parry regarding having an optionExercise container element. I wasn't
sure about the level of interest and then we switched to the Business
Process Working Group.
I should probably do the change and open a final call for comments.

I am inclinded towards the proposal, but it needs to be compared to
existing types in this areas such as
<xsd:element name="termination" type="Termination"/>
