FYI ... I have made these changes and emailed them to Steven Lord to
product
a new version of the spec. The changes are fairly small and only
impact
this one particular element.

In a separate email, I will send you a new set of examples that
validate
against the latest DTD. I will also forward to you a new version of
the
specification.

Finally, you should be aware that we had the kickoff meeting for our
FpML
Task Force, which is comprised of a few members from each of the
working
groups to deal with various improvements in general to the FpML
spec. This
includes many of the subjects that we brought up and deferred within
our
working group meetings last year, such as handling of premium at the
strategy level, portfolios of trades, product id's to designate a
particular
id number for each product within a strategy, etc. The meeting went
really
well, and I think you'll be seeing some these changes being
incorporated
into the Version 3.0 specification over the next couple of months.

I hope some of you have had a chance to review through chunks of the
specification. I will be sending out a poll soon asking each of you
to vote
on whether you accept publishing the specification as a working
draft on the
FpML web site.

Regards,
Rick

Steven,

I have no problem of renaming the element "strikePrice"
to "fxStrikePrice"
in the FX DTD. I'll do it on the plane ride home and email the
updated DTD,
element definition, and gif files upon return to NY.

Regards,
Rick

This is a clash with the FX dtd.

I would suggest that the fx element is renamed to fxStrikePrice.
It's
type is definitely FX specific:
<!ENTITY % FpML_FXStrikePrice "rate , strikeQuoteBasis">
Since strikeQuoteBasis is a FX specific element.

Rick: can you let us know your thoughts on how this clash can be
resolved.

Steven
